Canadian Black Book names Yolanda Biswah its first president

Canadian Black Book has a new president.

The data and analytics that specializes in used-vehicle analysis promoted Yolanda Biswah to the newly created position July 1.

Biswah was most recently senior vice-president and general manager of Canadian Black Book, which is owned by the US-based Black Book company.

“This is a proud, historic Canadian brand, and I am excited to lead it at such an exciting time in the industry,” said Biswah of Canadian Black Book. “We are committed to helping the Canadian automotive industry with our industry-leading data and analytics.”

Biswah will report to Jared Kalfus, who serves as president of Black Book.

Biswah joined Canadian Black Book in 2015 and previously held positions in sales leadership, data licensing, and customer experience.

“Yolanda has more than 20 years in the industry, a proven record of leadership, and a deep commitment to fostering the next generation of automotive leaders,” Jared Kalfus, president of Black Book, said in a statement.

Biswah’s career includes positions at Telus and AutoTrader.

She graduated from Centennial College’s School of Business, has a certificate in performance management from the Schulich School of Business, and has an advanced certificate in strategic leadership from the University of Toronto.

Biswah was named one of ten “Notable Champions of Diversity” by Automotive News Canada in 2022.

She volunteers with Accelerate Auto, a non-profit in the automotive industry working to increase representation and diversity, and Gilda’s House.

Biswah also serves as a volunteer for Hearst’s Level Up Ventures, which provides cash investment and services to early-stage, tech-enabled startups led by Black and Latino founders.
